PURPOSE of the MW Award:
Promote excellence in Official Masonic Web Site publication
for Masonic awareness on the Internet.

GOALS:
To promote by example "standard" basic guidelines, concepts and designs for the
practice of the "craft" without adversely effecting a "true spirit of creativity"
in order to achieve the acceptance of the Masonic Internet concept by all Masons.

OBJECTIVES:
Recognize achievements and encourage improvements. Encourage a spirit of
fellowship and mutual cooperation/assistance among Masonic Webmasters.
Promote the recognition of the value of the new communication system.

SIGNIFICANCE of COLOR:
Royal Purple and Gold are considered emblematical of
significant achievement and honorable status, ELITE

The "MW" will be awarded to Sites
which display Significant Quality Achievement
In accordance with the following criteria.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Factual
2. Properly referenced to "Grand Site"
3. NO MISTAKES - computer language or typos.
4. 100% Masonic - MINIMIZE ADVERTISEMENTS
5. Clear identification of the responsible Web Master.
6. Clear identification of Masonic Affiliation, location etc.
7. Clear identification of e-mail address to send comments to or request information.
8. Guest Book
9. Counter for recording visitors.
10 Clearly identified for published and revision (UPDATE) dates.
11. Active Site - when the site is reviewed, it must show an update of within one month.
12 Present Masonic information beyond organization basics and officers list.
Examples - should contain a "message from the presiding officer" if a monthly
"Trestleboard Site" or Events/Meetings
13. Responsiveness to requests for information via e-mail
Minimum requirement - WITHIN 24 HOURS!
14. Must be Official Site with Hyper Link to the appropriate "Grand Site".
Examples: York Rite Link Site at: www.yorkrite.org
Lodge to Grand Lodge Site, or Supreme Jurisdiction
15. SPEED OF LOADING STILL IMPORTANT -MOVIES SLOW the Loading

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/CRITERIA

1. Site has received more than one Award from Masonic Site Evaluators.
2. Contributes significantly to Masonic Awareness on the Internet
3. Contributes significantly to improved Masonic Communications via the Internet.
4. IS EASY & QUICK LOADING - ALSO ENJOYABLE -
5. Use of Masonic Graphics.
6. Use of Hyper Links to other Sites
7. Use of Hyper Links to other pages within the site
"Creating a true internal web site".
8. Use of Music and it's significance to subject of page, appropriate
9. Definition of Design Concept and use of text/background colors
to help Brethren read easily.
10. Activity of Web Master, participation in Internet Associations & Masonic Bodies.
11. Use of major link web sites versus listing all individual sites
12. Visitor Activity - "Hit Count",
especially if site has been up for 6 months to a year plus.

Levels of Award
EA - Score of 50% plus on Minimum Requirements
FC - Score of 75% plus on Minimum Requirements
MM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
MMM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 2 of Additional Requirements
PM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 4 of Additional Requirements
MEM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 6 of Additional Requirements
SM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 8 of Additional Requirements
RM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 10 of Additional Requirements
SEM - Score of 100% on Minimum Requirements
Plus 12 of Additional Requirements

Each submittal will be reviewed extensively according to the "above criteria" as developed and represents "my personal vision of an elite official Masonic Website",
truly worthy of the commendation of the craft and would classify the Webmaster as a

"Super Excellent Masonic Web Master".

Each submission will receive a personal e-mail with the results of the review completely defined. This is not an "automatic" award and is intended to encourage excellence in Masonic Web Site Publication. We WANT and MUST DEMAND the "BEST"!!

It will also be required that the site establish a hyper link to this Award Site at: www.mwsite.org/award
If after a rountine inventory of sites to observe that they are still "ONLINE", the site repeately comes up "NO URL" and "NO RESPONSE" is forthcoming to an e-mail inquiry, THE AWARD WILL BE WITHDRAWN and NO LONGER LISTED HERE.
